It was an exciting weekend of racing for some of our athletes!
Congrats to Paul Greenberg for the OVERALL win at New Jersey Devilman with more than a 3’30” lead over 2nd place! Awesome job Paul on the heels of his 3rd place win at USAT Age Group Nationals – Standard Distance Duathlon. Paul once again thrived on a day of stinking crosswinds. Well, if you’ve been racing bikes for most of your life, nasty conditions are in your favor!
Congrats to Jim Vernon for his OVERALL 2nd place finish at the Guthrie Duathlon, with minutes ahead of 3rd place. This off his 4th place finish at USAT Age Group Nationals – Standard Distance Duathlon. Next up THE OKIES RUN!
Congratulations to John Muller for a well-executed, and to plan, finish at the Redding ½ Marathon, over 900 ft of climbing in the rain! Next up CT 70.3!
Congratulations to Julie Woody for a solid finish at the Providence Marathon – Again, in the rain and nailing it! Her goal was a sub 4 hour marathon, and her perfectly executed plan and training got her a 3:59:29! Well done Julie! Next up, IMLP 70.3!
And while these guys were running around in the rain and mud, yours truly did too. My friends Kathy & Ela ran at the Redding Road Race too in the 3 & 7 miler, and the ½ marathon, respectively, with me. Kathy fresh off the Boston Marathon took the silver for the 7 miler and had a blast running mile 2 with Bill Rodgers! Ela braved the rain and elements (I think she thought there’d be coffee on the course!) and is running Bridgehampton next weekend for fun. ?
And yours truly with the famous Tony Trujillo of Tony’s Kneaded Touch. His pre and post race massage allowed me to hit my race day goal today too! Thanks Tony!
Happy Training Everyone – And Hooray, there’s finally sun today in New England!!!
