Colorado – The Colorado Experience – July 2016

This is a great multi-sport camp that will include cycling at altitude (approximately 5,500′ adn 9,000′), running, hiking, swimming and white water rafting class III and class IV rapids.  A base level of fitness to hike and white-water raft is needed, but beyond that the intensity is up to the camper.

The benefits of sleeping at altitude (in this case approximtely 9,000′ are well known, and training below 7,000′) and training lower are well known to boost red blood cell count.  We will mix a combination of high altitude rides along the Peak to Peak Highway with lower altitude rides up to Carter Lake Reesrvoir from Boulder.

Campers will fly into Denver and have their bikes assembled.  Then transportation will be provided to Nederland.  One day of white-water rafing and “recovery” will occur mid-week weather pending, and after our Boulder to Crater Lake Reservoir ride campers will be able to mill about the famed Pearl Street for an amazing lunch, sight seeing and picking up cool Colorado gear.

This camp is designed to be an active vacation, and non-athlete friends/ spouses are welcome to come and enjoy.  Most trainign will be completed between 11 AM and 1 PM mountain time.
